Clinical Advisory Team
In addition to the core team, the following clinicians are recognized emergency medicine subject matter experts who are often
called upon to guide and assist with engagements.
Raymond Iannaccone, MD, FACEP
Dr. Iannaccone is the Chief Executive Officer and President for Emergency Medical Associates (EMA) and a member of
its' Board of Directors. He was previously the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Hudson
Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor, New York. In this role, Dr. Iannaccone helped to develop a
"no wait" emergency department which reduced time to bed by greater than 50% and valuted patient
satisfaction to the 99th percentile.
Dr. Iannaccone is a Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a professional society
member of the New York Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He received his
undergraduate degree at St. John's University, Jamaica, New York and his medical degree from Albert
Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York. He completed his first residency in Internal Medicine
at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, VA. He received specialized training in diving, hyperbaric
and submarine medicine at the Naval Undersea Medical Institute, Groton, CT. He is currently in the US
Navy Reserve, Fleet Hospital, Fort Dix, NJ, as Commander, Casualty Receiving.
Dr. Iannaccone's areas of expertise are in: physician management strategies, ED operations, physician
productivity and emergency medicine clinical practice.
John Fontanetta, MD, FACEP
Dr. Fontanetta has nearly 20 years of clinical and management experience in Emergency Medicine and currently
serves as the Chairman of Emergency Medicine at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, New Jersey, which
sees 54,000 visits/year.
He is also a Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal
Medicine (Subspecialty of Pulmonary Medicine). He received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College
in New York, New York and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania and fellowship in Pulmonary / Critical Care Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx Municipal
Hospital Center, Bronx, New York.
Dr. Fontanetta is an expert in ED revenue cycle strategies, efficient ED operations/process design, physician productivity,
and use of emergency department information systems (EDIS).
Michael Gerardi, MD, FAAP, FACEP
Dr. Gerardi is an expert in pediatric emergency medicine as well as risk management/malpractice. In addition to his 15 years
of clinical experience, he is the Vice-Chairman, Department of Emergency Medicine at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown,
New Jersey, which sees 70,000 patients/year as well as the Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine for Atlantic HealthCare Systems.
He has received numerous awards and distinctions for his commitment to teaching, is a regular author of clinical research and is
actively involved in the governance of the American College of Emergency Physicians at a national level.
He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, American Board of Pediatrics, American Board of Internal Medicine, and
a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Gerardi also holds a subspecialty certification in Pediatric Emergency
Medicine by ABP/ABEM.
Dr. Gerardi received his undergraduate degree at Georgetown University, Washington D.C. and his medical degree from Georgetown
University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. He completed his residency in Pediatric and Internal Medicine at Emory University in
Atlanta, Georgia.
Peter Sawchuk, MD, JD, MBA
Dr. Sawchuk has been intimately involved in ED operations for over 25 years, and specifically in emergency physician documentation,
coding, and billing for over 20 years. For the past 10 years, he has been the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP)
representative to the AMA CPT Advisory Committee. He was also ACEP's representative to the AMA Relative Values Update Committee's
(RUC) Advisory Panel and the emergency medicine representative to the New Jersey Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee for about 10 years.
He is also an expert in the area of government regulations, including HIPAA and EMTALA.
Elaine Barry, RN, MSN, APN-C, CEN, CCRN
As the Director of IT Clinical Client Relations within EDIM, LLC, Elaine is responsible for
directing clinical policy and compliance initiatives as well as efforts to maximize the adoption
of EDIM in ED environments. She brings with her a 20-year clinical experience, a clinical
operations background, which includes work in ED process optimization, and extensive domain
knowledge.
Elaine received her BSN in Nursing and MSN in Nursing Administration from Seton Hall University.
William Dalsey, MD, MBA, FACEP
Dr. Dalsey is the Emergency Department Medical Director at Kimball Medical Center (KMC) in
Lakewood, New Jersey, which sees 54,000 patients/year. KMC has experienced significant growth in
patient volume and has still sustained patient satisfaction scores that place them in the 99th
percentile of all hospitals (Press Ganey).
He is a professional society member of American Medical Association, Society of Academic
Emergency Medicine, the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians,
Council of Residency Directors, National Association of EMS Physicians, Consortium for Spinal
Cord Medicine, and the National Committee for Cardiac Care.
Dr. Dalsey received his undergraduate degree at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pennsylvania,
and his medical degree from Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He
completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio.
He is also a Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and is a Fellow of the
American College of Emergency Physicians.
His areas of expertise include: patient satisfaction, ED operations and business
decision making in emergency medicine.
