Our emergency department consultants are a diverse group of skilled clinical and administrative individuals
who have functioned as part of both the leadership and support teams for emergency departments.
Eric Bachenheimer, MHSA, MBA, FACHE
Director, ED Solutions
Eric has spent over 10 years in hospital operations of large academic medical centers. He was the
Administrative Director of the Emergency Department at NYU Medical Center in New York City, NY and
has held several other hospital operational and financial positions at Beth Israel Medical Center
in New York City as well as Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Eric received a Master of Health Services Administration degree from the University of Michigan and a
Master of Business Administration degree from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is
also a certified Emergency Medical Technician and has worked in EMS for nearly 15 years.
He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and received the Big Apple 2004
Regent's Young Healthcare Executive Award. He was awarded the Best Case Study from the ACHE in 2005
and has written articles and spoken on the topic of emergency department operations and best practices.
Some of the Eric's specific areas of focus include: ED process redesign, analytics and operational
improvements, staffing and financial modeling, computer simulation, and patient satisfaction strategies.
Janet McGeehan, RN
ED Solutions Associate
Janet has over 20 years of nursing experience, having held numerous ED nurse managerial roles throughout her career.
Prior to joining the team, Janet worked as a consultant who conducted assessments of emergency departments across the
United States. In the past, she was the Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ
and the Point Pleasant division of the Meridian Healthcare System in Point Pleasant, NJ.
In 2003, Janet received the Elizabeth Kellogg Award for Nursing Excellence- Leadership in 2003.
Janet received her nursing degree from Ann May School of Nursing in Neptune NJ and currently maintains her RN
licensure in the State of NJ. She is also a member of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), National Association
for Healthcare Quality and American Society for Healthcare Risk Management. Janet formerly served on the Ocean County
Board of Health and Point Pleasant Township Board of Health in New Jersey.
Janet's areas of focus include: ED nurse management and mentoring, clinical policy development, patient throughput
and grant writing.
Patricia Gillen, RN, PHR
ED Solutions Associate
Patricia Gillen, RN, PHR brings experience in Emergency Department nurse management and the banking industry. She
worked as the Assistant Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department at Newark Beth Israel (NBI) Medical Center in
Newark, New Jersey for several years, where she also worked as a staff nurse in the Emergency Department and Non-Invasive
Cardiovascular Lab and Cardiac Transfer Center. Patty also has experience in Human Resources, having managed the nurse
recruitment and employee relations areas at NBI as well.
Prior to her career in nursing, she was an Assistant Vice President at Summit Bank, one of the largest banks in the State
of New Jersey. Patricia graduated from the Elizabeth General Medical Center School of Nursing and Union County College
with High Honors. She was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa and was also recipient of the Army Nurse Corps "Spirit of Nursing Award."
Patricia received a Certificate in Human Resource Studies from Cornell University's School of Industrial Relations and is
certified by the Certification Institute of the Society for Human Resource Management as a Professional in Human Resources.
She is a member of the Emergency Nurse's Association, the Society for Human Resource Management and the National Association of
Healthcare Recruiters.
Patty's focal areas include: clinical ED nursing practice, regulatory compliance, and human resources.
Meghan Calichman, MPA
ED Solutions Associate
Meghan has nearly 15 years of Emergency Department administrative and technical expertise. Previously, she was the Corporate Director
of Emergency Services for Liberty Health Care, a multi-hospital system in New Jersey where she was responsible for working with physician
and nurse leadership to enhance the quality of patient care, customer satisfaction and ensure cost effectiveness.
Previously she led the Information Services and Technology department at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark,
NJ and was the administrator for the Ambulatory Care and Community Services departments. Meghan was also the Business Coordinator for the
Emergency Department at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ.
Meghan received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University in New York City, NY and her Master of Public Administration from
the Wagner School of Public Service at New York University in New York City, NY.
Meghan's focal areas include: ED information technology and systems, operations, planning, finance and patient satisfaction.
Jonathan Rothman, MBA
Director, Data Management and Analytics
Jonathan is responsible for the data management and reporting functions that help to produce performance analytics and analyses for ED Solutions.
He has extensive experience in healthcare including expertise in business intelligence, analytic systems, ED operations, financial management systems
and dashboard design. He was the primary architect of the Emergency Medicine Analysis and Reporting System (eMARS) data warehouse project for
Emergency Medical Associates (EMA) which reports key metrics on over 8 million archived emergency
department patient visits.
Jonathan received his MBA from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
Ellen Dittus
Senior Operations Analyst
As the Senior Operations Analyst, Ellen provides analytical and technical support to gain greater insight into understanding key trends that affect ED performance. She has 12 years of experience as an analyst in the healthcare field, with provider side experience, having worked at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ as an analyst.
Peter Ghidella
Operations Analyst
Peter is responsible for the provision of analytical and data support to ED Solutions clients. He brings 15 years of experience in the healthcare insurance industry where he worked to analyze provider and hospital claims data.
Peter earned a B.S. degree from Dowling College and is currently pursuing a Registered Nursing degree at the Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center Snyder School of Nursing. Following this, he will seek to earn an MSN degree in Nursing Informatics.
